About Me

I am an experienced Psychoanalyst, Psychotherapist and Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field for over 25 years.  I also study and practice insight meditation and incorporate this into my work if appropriate.  

I provide:

-individual and couples psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to older adolescents and adults

-supervision and consultation to psychotherapists and psychoanalysts

-advising, coaching and consultation to executives and leaders

I am a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst, a faculty member, and immediate past Chair of the Education of the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center (PPC).  

I am the President of the Board of PPC as well as the Clinic Without Walls (CWW).  CWW is a PPC low fee psychodynamic psychotherapy training clinic for psychiatric residents to provide treatment to the  uninsured and underinsured.

I am an Executive Committee Director for the Board of Directors of the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsA).  I am also on the Policies and Procedures Committee of the Board of APsA, and on the Nominations Committee for the corporation of APsA.  I am a representative for the Institute Advisory and Consultation Section of the Department of Psychoanalytic Education for the APsA.  I am also a member of the APsA Study Group on Meditation and Psychoanalysis.

I spent many years as a psychotherapist and clinical coordinator at Carnegie Mellon University Counseling Center.  I also held various roles at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic including using Interpersonal (IPT) for women with unipolar depression and Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) for men and women  with bipolar disorder.
